Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences Miami

At 1,049 feet the Waldorf Astoria will be Florida's first supertall and, on completion, the tallest building in the state and the tallest residential tower in the United States south of Manhattan. Property Markets Group leads the development with Greybrook, Mohari Hospitality, S2 Development and Hilton; Sieger Suarez Architects designed it with Carlos Ott, BAMO did the interiors, and John Moriarty & Associates is building it on a one-acre parcel on Biscayne Boulevard once slated for the Empire World Towers. Construction started in 2022 on a foundation poured over thirty-one continuous hours in June 2024; the concrete frame passed the fiftieth floor in December 2025 and the eighty-fifth in August 2026, with topping out expected in the winter of 2026. The developers' estimate for completion is the second quarter of 2028.

The tower is a stack of offset glass cubes turned about a vertical axis, one hundred floors holding 387 condominium residences above a 205-room Waldorf Astoria hotel owned and managed by Hilton — a hotel with residences above it, not a condo-hotel. The frame is all concrete and has risen at roughly a floor every ten days. Its $668 million construction loan, closed in June 2024, was reported as the largest ever made for a condominium in Florida.
