The Fairchild Coconut Grove

Twenty-six residences, five floors, directly on Biscayne Bay in Glencoe — one of the quietest pockets of Coconut Grove. The Fairchild is a collaboration between the local architect Max Strang and the interior designer Rafael de Cárdenas, and it takes its name from the Grove's first botanical pioneer. The gardens, planted in the spirit of the Kampong, are not incidental to that reference.

Water access is immediate. Private boat slips and a private dock sit at the building's edge, so a paddleboard at dawn or a boat out to the ocean requires no drive at all. Downtown Coconut Grove lies a few minutes south, Brickell and downtown Miami a few minutes north.

Homes carry eleven-foot ceilings, natural stone floors and walls, solid wood doors, LED lighting and walk-in closets, with private outdoor showers and lanais on the residence plans. Kitchens are built around Wolf gas ranges with standard, convection and steam ovens, Sub-Zero refrigeration, freezers, wine coolers and ice makers, Poliform cabinetry and Dornbracht fixtures. Bathrooms are spa-scaled; living and dining areas open toward the water.

The amenities were designed by de Cárdenas as an extension of the interiors: swimming pools with full service on the rooftop Sunrise Deck, private lounges set among native planting on the Sunset Deck, a Bay Lounge for the evening, a private fitness studio and a hammam. Security and valet run around the clock, with full-time concierge and butler service.
