One Thousand Museum

Zaha Hadid designed One Thousand Museum, and it is the only residential tower in Miami she did. Sixty-two floors hold eighty-three residences: four duplex townhouses, seventy half-floor homes, eight full-floor penthouses and one penthouse spanning two full floors, with a private indoor pool and more than 15,000 interior square feet. Ceilings reach twelve feet through most of the building.

Two features set the program apart. A helipad sits on the roof — conceived as the first on a residential development in South Florida — putting nearby islands, airports and moored yachts within reach at short notice. And the building holds a high-security vault, planned as the first in a Miami residential tower, for storing art, antiques and jewelry. Immediately beneath the helipad, a double-height aquatic center carries an infinity-edge pool set flush against the exterior glass wall.

Interiors were specified to match: Gatto Cucine kitchens with Gaggenau and Sub-Zero appliances, Dornbracht fittings, Molteni & C closets, Kreon lighting and integrated Crestron control, with finish palettes selected by Hadid herself. Each residence comes with three or four parking spaces. The address sits on the museum stretch of Biscayne Boulevard, with the arts, restaurants and nightlife of downtown at the door and the airport, PortMiami and Aventura a short drive out.
