Elysee Miami

Elysee occupies a bayfront site in East Edgewater and resolves an unusual brief: a fifty-seven story tower holding only 100 residences. Two homes to a floor on the lower tiers and a single home to a floor higher up give a building of considerable height the population of a boutique one. Every residence looks out over Biscayne Bay without obstruction.

Bernardo Fort-Brescia of Arquitectonica designed it as three telescoping tiers in pale tones — a silhouette meant to be recognized from a distance without shouting for attention. Inside, the French interior designer Jean-Louis Deniot brought his own register, which is at once classical and entirely current.

Homes run three to five bedrooms with den options and duplex plans, between 2,660 and 3,995 square feet, delivered decorator-ready. Each takes a private elevator and foyer, ceilings of ten to eleven feet, and two terraces of eight to ten feet facing east and west, so the same residence catches both sunrise over the bay and sunset behind the city. A Savant system runs climate, lighting, entertainment and window treatments from a phone. Kitchens and baths are ItalKraft with Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances; more than half the residences include staff quarters. Two full floors are given to amenities.
